There are many pros and cons to moving to a Buford, GA. Life is good here. Sure we have traffic. But the location and accessibility to freeways is amazing. We are only 45 miles from the Atlanta Heartsfield Airport. With easy access to 985, 85, and the 400 it makes getting to the airport or anywhere pretty easy.
Another great thing about living in Buford is Lake Lanier. The beach access is great with several marinas for easy boat launching. We also have some great restaurants on Lake Lanier, like Fish Tales, Pig Tales, and Twisted Oar.
The 4th Pro of living in Buford is the shopping. You have all your favorite stores and restaurants easy to get to. If you are a Costco or Sam’s Club shopper, they are located close to the Mall of Georgia with all your big retail stores.
Entertainment in Buford?
The Buford Community Center offers some great shows! Summer concert series, where you can take a blanket and sit on the lawn and enjoy the music. Also downtown Buford offers 37 Main, which offers Dueling pianos and Thursday nights and lived bands on alternate nights. The food is amazing as well.
There are also some other great restaurants in Downtown Buford, like Bare Bones Steak House, Ricos World Kitchen, and Tannery Row Ale house, which also has live bands some nights.

There are several hospitals and and around Buford for easy accessibility. You have Emory Healthcare, Northside hospital and Kaiser.
How are the schools?
One of the biggest pros of living in Buford, is the schools. The City of Buford offers utilities and through their service the tax dollars fuel the growth of the school. The new High School was built and is affectionately called the “College of Buford” and came with an $85 million price tag. They have also started clearing the land for a new football stadium, coming in 2024.
We love the bus system is amazing as well. Many kids take the school buses to school.
What are the cons?
Growth can be tough! Just like any suburban city, the urban sprawl is a real thing. Which contributes to traffic. Depending on the time of day, traffic can be brutal so plan accordingly.
